Where To Sit At PNC Park

As a modern ballpark, PNC Park really doesn’t have a bad spot from which to enjoy the game. That said, there are some things that you’ll want to keep in mind before you buy your tickets to see the Pirates. Because the view of the downtown skyline beyond the outfield fence is so impressive, it’s nice to have a seat where you can enjoy this view without turning your head. The good news is that most seats throughout PNC Park provide this view — the lone exception are the Right Field Reserved seats and Center Field Reserved seats and, to a lesser extent, the Bleacher Reserved and Upper Bleacher Reserved seats in left field. The seats behind home plate, regardless of what section and level you’re in, give you a fantastic vantage point.

If you’re on a budget, you’ll want to browse the prices based on the opposing team. Like many teams, the Pirates charge more for tickets against premium foes. The Right Field Reserved seats tend to offer good value — as of 2017, you’ll pay just $22 a seat in this section. Ushers tightly control who enters this area, despite its distance from home plate, too, so you won’t have to deal with people sneaking in and competing for space.

There are a number of enticing standing-room spots throughout the ballpark, beginning with the rotunda that towers above the left field corner. This four-level spiral structure is a popular spot during games, with fans standing along the railings from top to bottom. There’s also a spot below the Right Field Reserved seats that offers a perfect view of the game. The front part of this walkway is reserved for wheelchairs, but you’ll often have luck standing back out of the way. Speaking of standing, make sure that you devote some time to standing on the Riverwalk during your visit. Missing the game is never ideal, but when you have an opportunity to enjoy the skyline and watch the boats go past, you’ll want to check out this area.
