How To Get A Ball At Coors Field

After players finish playing catch before the game, they’ll often toss their ball to a nearby fan.

The outfield seating situation at Coors Field is unique in that the placement of a water fountain attraction in center field and the bullpens in right-center field mean that there are no field-level seats in these areas. This means that there are limited spots to stand in the outfield in hopes of snagging a batting practice ball — but don’t let that discourage you from trying. Your best bet is to stand in the Pavilion seating section, which you can find at field level in left and left-center field. A ton of balls fly into these seats, and you can even stand on the concourse immediately behind the seats to grab a long home run or a bouncing ball. This doesn’t necessarily mean that you should stay away from the seats behind the dugouts, however. Some players will toss up balls that land in the dugouts during BP, so you may have some luck in these spots.

As is the case at any ballpark, arriving as soon as the gates open will exponentially increase your likelihood of getting a baseball. You can spend time walking through the seating bowl in hopes of finding a ball hit during BP. Additionally, if you stand near two players as they play catch, there’s a chance that one of them will toss you the ball when they finish.

You can get players to sign for you virtually anywhere down the base lines, depending on where players are playing catch before the game. You may also have some luck tossing a ball and a pen down to either bullpen and having a player sign for you and then toss them back up afterward.
