If you’re interested in hot dogs, nachos, soft drinks and other standard baseball food, you’ll find all of that at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium. But the ValleyCats also serve up some other noteworthy food that’s different from the norm. Most notable is Buddy’s BBQ, located on the first base side. (If you’re having trouble finding it, look for the plumes of BBQ smoke that are wafting through the air.) Buddy’s is a hot sell at this ballpark, and the lineup for food may stretch a couple dozen people long. But the wait is worth it. Buddy’s sells chicken spiedies, a local favorite consisting of marinated chicken cubes on a bun. Buddy’s also offers salt potatoes, Black Angus burgers and corn on the cob.

Beyond the left field fence, the Top of the Hill Bar & Grill is a unique place from which to watch the game. It’s also an ideal place if you’re hungry or thirsty. In addition to selling a variety of beers on tap, the area offers an all-you-can-eat menu for groups of 75 of more fans. The price is $18 for adults, $15 for kids menu includes hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, watermelon, water and pop.

Lastly, the Picnic Pavilion on the first base side is a great place to enjoy eating your food if you don’t like eating on your lap in a box seat. If you’ve got a group of 20 or more, you can book a party in this area with all-you-can-eat food. The food in this area is better than at the Top of the Hill Bar & Grill, and costs $25 for adults and $20 for kids. For that price, you can eat all the marinated chicken, sausage on a bun, hamburgers, hot dogs, salads, salt potatoes, chips, watermelon, pop and water you want.
