  • If you enjoy shopping, check out the sixth-largest mall in the U.S., just minutes from NBT Bank Stadium
If you enjoy walking around before the game, check out the view of the stadium from the train tracks behind the right field fence.

NBT Bank Stadium isn’t located in a hub of activity. Its closest sights are the Syracuse’s Regional Market and the Regional Transportation Center – not exactly prime tourist hotspots, although the Regional Market is the site of farmers’ markets on Thursdays and Saturdays and a flea market on Sundays.

If you’re in the mood for a little shopping before the Chiefs game, check out the Destiny USA mall, which was formerly known as the Carousel Mall because of its enormous carousel. If you’ve got kids, the carousel alone is worth a stop. The mall has six levels and is the sixth-largest mall in the U.S. with nearly 2.5 million square feet of shops.

There aren’t any notable eateries to hit before the game, although the Regional Transportation Center has a Subway and Dunkin’ Donuts. Still, given the wide range of food and drink available at NBT Bank Stadium, you’ll be happy if you visit on an empty stomach.

I make no secrets about being slightly directionally challenged, but the first time I visited Syracuse for a game, I had absolutely no trouble finding the park. Whether you’re using a GPS or Google Maps, you won’t get turned around.
